Apex Legends is heading to Night City for its next limited-time crossover. A Cyberpunk: Edgerunners event begins on July 14, bringing Cyberpunk-themed cosmetics, new Wildcard abilities and a nighttime version of E-District styled after CD PROJEKT RED's neon-soaked world.

The event is not replacing the core battle royale or ranked playlists. According to Game Rant, which previewed the event, the crossover is a Wildcard takeover, so the biggest gameplay changes are aimed at Apex Legends' faster, more experimental mode.

That focus fits Respawn's recent treatment of Wildcard. In EA's official Power Trip event notes, the studio described Wildcard as Apex's more accessible, arcade-style space, with faster matches and room for ideas that would not work cleanly in the main game.

Cyberware turns Wildcard into the event's playground

The crossover adds two Cyberpunk-inspired cyberware options. Blackwall Breach, based on Lucy, makes players effectively invisible by pulling them into a portal-like world for three seconds. Sandevistan, based on David, gives players a high-speed dash that can be used repeatedly on the ground or twice in the air.

Using those powers too aggressively can push a player into cyberpsychosis. In that state, movement speed and melee damage rise sharply, but melee becomes the only damage source and shields cannot be used or regenerated. Immunoblockers can lower the usage gauge before a player tips over the edge.

The cosmetic side leans on both Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The confirmed skin pairings include Male V for Crypto, Female V for Lifeline and Lizzy Wizzy for Ash. The Alternator is also getting a Mythic Skippy skin, complete with new voice lines from the original actor that can trigger around knocks, kills and other in-match actions.

E-District gets closer to Night City

E-District is also being reworked for the event. The nighttime version of the map returns with Cyberpunk graffiti, Arasaka references, nods to Johnny Silverhand and a skybox that pulls from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, including the anime's moon imagery.

Game Rant's preview says Apex Legends world director Eduardo Agostini would like to see nighttime E-District, and potentially nighttime versions of other maps, return to regular rotation someday, though Respawn has not announced that as a plan.

The crossover lands shortly after Cyberpunk fans got a separate anime update, with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 now set for Fall 2026. Apex Legends remains free-to-play across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners event starting July 14.
