Insomniac Games has put a sharper spotlight on Tokyo in Marvel’s Wolverine, confirming the Japanese capital as one of the PS5 game’s key story locations. The studio shared a short clip of Logan moving across rooftops, giving players a clearer label for one of the quick location teases from the recent State of Play gameplay reveal.

The confirmation adds a specific marker to the game’s globe-trotting setup, but it does not say how open or explorable Tokyo will be. The official PlayStation page describes Marvel’s Wolverine as a journey through detailed locations including Canada, Tokyo and Madripoor, with the Tokyo portion framed around the city’s narrow streets.

Insomniac highlighted Tokyo in a short Marvel’s Wolverine clip.

Tokyo joins Wolverine’s global fight

Marvel’s Wolverine is already being pitched as a story that moves Logan across multiple regions instead of staying in one familiar superhero sandbox. PlayStation’s official listing says Logan will fight through the frosted Canadian Wilderness, the narrow streets of Tokyo and the high and low districts of Madripoor.

The setting also helps separate Wolverine from the city-swinging rhythm of Insomniac’s Spider-Man titles. The recent State of Play gameplay trailer focused on close-range combat, Reavers, Jean Grey and Logan’s Rage system, while this newer Tokyo clip gives one of the montage locations a clearer identity.

Insomniac has not announced whether Tokyo will be a large explorable hub, a linear mission area or a set-piece location. What is confirmed is that Tokyo is part of the main story route, not just a background tease.

Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15, 2026 for PlayStation 5. Players who want the broader rundown can catch up with our Marvel’s Wolverine guide, which tracks the game’s release date, story setup, combat details and confirmed characters.
