Rainbow Six Siege is getting a packed new season on June 2, with Operation System Override bringing a Dokkaebi remaster, a new Calypso Casino map and the broader rollout of Ranked 3.0.

Ubisoft's season breakdown frames the update around several major changes at once. Dokkaebi's old mass spam calls are being replaced by a more direct gadget called the Jegeo Payload, Calypso Casino gives Siege a fresh map inspired by the Rainbow Six Vegas games and the ranked ladder is being rebuilt around clearer matchmaking and rewards.

Dokkaebi's phone hack is now a direct threat

Dokkaebi's reworked gadget no longer calls every Defender at once. The Jegeo Payload targets one Defender per call, using a targeting system similar to Deimos' DeathMark tracker. The targeted player hears a more urgent ringtone and can dismiss it faster than Dokkaebi's previous calls, but failing to deal with it has much heavier consequences.

If the payload completes, the Defender's phone explodes, dealing direct damage and creating a small fire at their position. That forces the target to move immediately or take more damage, which can open them up to Dokkaebi's team.

Dokkaebi's reworked Jegeo Payload can damage a targeted Defender and disable some phone-based utility.

The phone explosion also cuts off observation tools for that Defender until they are eliminated or the next round begins. Operators who depend on their phones for gadget interactions are hit harder. Ubisoft lists Mozzie's stolen drones, Maestro's Evil Eye lasers, Echo's Yokai bursts, Fenrir's F-NATT Dread Mines and Skopós' shell switching as examples of utility that can be disabled for the rest of the round.

Dokkaebi keeps her dead-phone hack for camera control too, though it now works temporarily and can be performed from a distance and through walls. She is also getting a new XK23 assault rifle, which will be available for free at the start of the season for Dokkaebi, Sens and Rauora.

Calypso Casino and Ranked 3.0 headline the season

Calypso Casino is the season's new map, and Ubisoft says it is inspired by the Rainbow Six Vegas games while being built from the ground up for competitive Siege. The map will enter the Map Ban phase at the start of the season, so ranked players should see it quickly.

The other major pillar is Ranked 3.0, which Ubisoft has already detailed separately. As covered in our earlier look at how Rainbow Six Siege Ranked 3.0 removes hidden MMR, the new system makes visible rank the central measure, adds five placement matches at the start of each season and introduces squad restrictions after placement to keep rank gaps under control.

Rewards are changing as well. Players can earn most seasonal ranked rewards by playing matches and progressing through a rewards track, with Ubisoft listing charms, backgrounds, competitive coins, alpha packs and seasonal headgear. Rank-based rewards tied to a player's highest rank in the season will still be delivered at the start of the following season.

Operation System Override also includes balance changes for Gridlock, Pulse, Mozzie and Nomad. Gridlock's Trax Stingers will deploy faster, become harder to destroy and make Defenders limp for 10 seconds after stepping on them, though she will have fewer to place. Pulse's Cardiac Sensor, Mozzie's Pest capture radius and Nomad's Airjab triggers are all getting range increases, while Nomad's AK-74M is gaining grip attachments.

Kanal, Outback and Emerald Plains are being modernized during the season. Mouse-and-keyboard support for consoles is planned for a mid-season update, which makes Operation System Override a wider Siege reset than a simple operator pass.
