A new Pokémon Winds and Waves leak is making a huge claim about the scale of Gen 10. According to Centro LEAKS on X, the next mainline Pokémon games could include the highest number of new Pokémon ever introduced in one generation, with a figure “around 300 new Pokémon / forms” being discussed.
That would be a massive jump if it is accurate. The current National Pokédex sits at 1,025 Pokémon across nine generations, so a Gen 10 wave anywhere near 300 additions would represent one of the boldest roster expansions in the series' history. Centro also says the rumored battle mechanic would introduce special weather forms for some Pokémon, comparing the idea broadly to Mega Evolutions or Gigantamax forms.
The claim still needs heavy caveats. Nintendo, The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have not announced a 300-creature roster expansion for Pokémon Winds and Waves, and Centro framed the post as a “potential massive leak.” The account said the rumor comes from kurwashibamaste and pointed readers to more detail on why it believes the information may be legitimate.
Why 300 new Pokémon would be such a big deal
Pokémon generations usually add a much smaller batch of new creatures than this rumor suggests. A total around 300 would dwarf the usual generational bump and land close to a fourth of the franchise's current Pokédex count. That is why the number is both exciting and difficult to accept without official confirmation.
The most interesting detail may be the wording. Centro's post says “new Pokémon / forms,” which leaves room for the alleged total to include alternate forms tied to the new mechanic, not only fully separate Pokédex species. If the weather-form claim is accurate, Gen 10 may be expanding the roster in a way that mixes new designs with battle-system variants.
Recent Winds and Waves rumors have already focused on individual creature designs, starter evolutions and legendary forms. Gamers Now recently covered a separate report that Gen 10's legendaries could get new forms, while another leak hinted at seven new Gen 10 designs. This latest claim is much broader, because it speaks to the size of the whole generation instead of one cluster of designs.
Until The Pokémon Company confirms more, the report remains unverified. A notable leak source is claiming Pokémon Winds and Waves could be far bigger than expected, but the unusually high number is the reason fans should be careful with it.
