Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection has a new paid story add-on on PS5, and its launch trailer is leaning on one of the spin-off series' most familiar faces. PlayStation's latest video confirms that Navirou returns in Additional Side Story: Rudy, a paid DLC release available from June 25.
The trailer description calls Navirou "the Felyne hero who once saved the world" and says he makes a "mighty return" in the Rudy side story. That is a clear signal to Monster Hunter Stories players that the DLC is not just another equipment drop or cosmetic pack. It is aimed at fans who followed the RPG branch of Monster Hunter through its character-driven adventure side, where Riders form bonds with monsters instead of simply hunting them.
The timing also matters because Twisted Reflection is still close to launch. The PlayStation Store page lists Monster Hunter Stories 3 as a PS5 game released on March 13, 2026, with Capcom U.S.A. as publisher. The same listing describes it as the third entry in the Monster Hunter Stories RPG series, where players become Riders, raise monsters and bond with them.
That is the major distinction from the mainline Monster Hunter games. Stories is still built inside Capcom's monster-filled world, but it shifts the fantasy away from weapon mastery and toward party-building, monster companions and a more traditional RPG journey. A story DLC anchored by Navirou fits that branch of the franchise better than a pure combat expansion would, especially for players who came to Stories for its cast and adventure tone.
Twisted Reflection's base story, according to the PlayStation Store listing, follows Azuria and Vermeil, two countries nearing destruction as monster species face extinction and war begins to return. The setup centers on an egg containing twin Rathalos bearing the Skyscale marking, a detail tied to a civil war from 200 years earlier. That gives the new side story a larger backdrop than a self-contained bonus quest, although PlayStation's trailer description does not spell out how Rudy connects to the main conflict.
Players who have not started the game yet also have a lower-risk way in. PlayStation says a free Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection demo is available, with save data carrying over to the full game. That is useful for this series in particular because the Stories format is a different commitment from the hunt-based Monster Hunter games, and the demo gives players a chance to see whether its RPG rhythm lands before buying the full game or any DLC.
The confirmed platform in PlayStation's trailer and store listing is PS5. PlayStation's product shelf lists the standard digital version, Deluxe Edition and Premium Deluxe Edition, while the store page prices the standard game at $55.99 in the U.S. PlayStation has not detailed the Rudy DLC's standalone price in the trailer description, and the trailer does not confirm whether the side story is included with any specific edition or DLC pack.
For returning Stories fans, the important part is simpler: Navirou is back, Rudy is available now on PS5 and Twisted Reflection's first major character-led side story gives the RPG spin-off another reason to return after the credits.
