Endless Legend 2 will leave early access on September 17, 2026, and Amplitude Studios' fantasy 4X sequel is making the jump to consoles on the same day.

Hooded Horse and Amplitude Studios confirmed the 1.0 date in an official release announcement, with PlayStation also publishing a new announcement trailer for the PS5 version. Endless Legend 2 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside the PC 1.0 release, while the PC version will be available through Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store.

PlayStation's Endless Legend 2 trailer confirms the strategy sequel for PS5.

The date gives Endless Legend 2 a clear finish line after its early-access run, but the console news is the sharper update for strategy players who missed the first game on PC. The original Endless Legend became one of Amplitude's defining games by mixing Civilization-style empire building with asymmetric fantasy factions, quest-led storytelling and a strange sci-fi thread running underneath its world. A simultaneous PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release suggests the sequel is being positioned as more than a PC-only comeback.

Endless Legend 2 is set on Saiadha, an ocean world being reshaped by receding seas and cataclysmic events. Players build cities, manage economies, raise armies and fight turn-based tactical battles while adapting to tidefalls that expose new territory, resources and routes across the map. The PlayStation Store listing describes it as a fantasy strategy game about leading varied factions through planet-spanning wars on an evolving world at the brink of extinction.

The 1.0 release will add the Sandshapers as the game's sixth major faction. According to the announcement, they are the oldest civilization on Saiadha and are trying to return the planet to the desert world it once was. Like the other major empires, the Sandshapers will come with their own faction quest, units, heroes, technologies and traits for the custom faction creator.

Amplitude is also adding Rogue Factions, splinter versions of existing groups with separate faction quests, stories and gameplay. The first two planned rogue groups are the Order of Zelevas, a conquest-focused version of the Kin of Sheredyn, and The Severed Claw, a Necrophage variant that replaces losses by enslaving other factions. A new minor faction, the Mangrove of Harmony, is also coming after being developed with input from the Amplitude community.

Endless Legend's identity has always lived in the way its factions bend the usual 4X rules. A new empire is more than a different unit set in this series. It can change how expansion, diplomacy, war and narrative quests fit together over a long campaign. Rogue Factions sound like a way to stretch those playstyles without asking players to relearn the whole game every time.

A new demo is also live on Steam and consoles, with the Kin of Sheredyn and The Last Lords available as playable factions. The current early-access PC version is priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £44.99 / ¥4,980, and Hooded Horse says the base price will not change at 1.0.

Endless Legend 2 is developed by Amplitude Studios and published by Hooded Horse. The September 17 launch covers PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the PS5 version will also get physical editions through Strictly Limited, with timing for those releases still to be confirmed.
