Helldivers 2 Update 6.1.2 is a small patch, but it adds one unusual platform-specific feature: Low Energy Mode on PS5. In the patch notes published through PlayStation, Arrowhead says the option reduces power consumption during idle and lower-intensity moments without affecting core gameplay performance or online functionality.
The patch is not evenly weighted across every platform. PS5 gets the new power-management setting, Xbox gets a short list of fixes and PC appears to be included mainly to keep the live build aligned for crossplay.
What Update 6.1.2 changes
On PS5, Low Energy Mode can be toggled through Settings, Display & Performance and Power Management. When enabled, the feature reduces background resource use during lower-intensity play and idle states, which should mean lower power draw, slightly reduced fan activity and lower system temperatures.
Arrowhead frames the feature as an optional efficiency setting rather than a performance mode. The important detail for players is that it should not reduce normal gameplay performance or break online functionality.
Xbox players get two practical fixes. One addresses invites failing after a player previously left a game. The other targets desync and loading issues that could happen when a host invited several clients or when a blocked client hotjoined a host who was already in a party with another client.
For players waiting on new missions, weapons or Warbond content, Update 6.1.2 is clearly maintenance rather than a major content beat. Still, the PS5 power option is a useful addition for long sessions, and the Xbox fixes target the kind of party issues that can derail a squad before a mission even starts.
