Crimson Desert has another substantial post-launch update, and this one gives players more reasons to revisit its biggest fights instead of simply cleaning up side objectives across Pywel.
Version 1.07.00 adds more bosses to the game's rematch system, new unarmed combat skills for Damiane and extra wolf and bear types that can be registered as mounts. The patch is available now on Steam for PC and Mac, PlayStation, Xbox and the Epic Games Store. Pearl Abyss says the Mac App Store version is still in progress and will arrive later.
The expanded rematch list includes Muskan at Bonepit, Corrupted Caliburn at Fort Musket, Goyen at Spire of the Sun, Draven, the Crowcaller at Church of West Demeniss and Clockwork White Horn at Gate to Advancement. Players can also find rematch locations in the Journal under Knowledge, Memory Fragments and Bosses. Pearl Abyss says some bosses originally found in the Abyss have had their rematch locations moved onto land.
The additions build on Crimson Desert's version 1.05.00 patch from earlier in May, which introduced Rematch as a way to fight previously defeated bosses again through Memory Fragments. At launch, that feature supported 69 bosses and offered two modes: Reminisce, which replays the fight as it originally appeared, and Resonate, which scales the boss up if the player's stats have outgrown the original encounter.
Damiane gets one of the update's more direct combat changes. Her new unarmed skills are available by choosing "Fists" in the skill menu, while both Damiane and Oongka can now use Aerial Stab. Kliff also gets a Blinding Flash Finisher for unarmed combat, and Oongka's Explosive Strike has a new charge phase.
Pearl Abyss has also adjusted unarmed attacks so most of them can now hit enemies lying on the ground. Damiane's general unarmed movement animation has been improved, while Oongka should chain into Stab more smoothly when dual-wielding.
The mount side of the patch is smaller, but it continues the same animal-heavy thread as Crimson Desert's previous special mounts update. Version 1.07.00 adds more wolves and bears that can be registered as mounts, adds reins for some mounts and increases the number of animals in the world that can be used as mounts.
The fix list covers quests, companions, graphics, controls, UI and specific bosses. Notably, Pearl Abyss says it has fixed a GPU crash tied to AMD driver version 26.5.1, an issue that could stop the A.T.A.G. from being summoned in some situations and a bug where legendary mounts could not be summoned when switching to Kliff under certain conditions.
The pace of updates is not surprising given the game's early commercial momentum. Pearl Abyss recently pointed to Crimson Desert's launch as part of a sharp quarterly revenue rise, with the publisher also floating the possibility of future Crimson Desert DLC. For now, version 1.07.00 is aimed squarely at players already deep enough into the game to want repeat boss fights, character-specific combat options and fewer rough edges around mounts and quests.
