Nicolas Cage is joining Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone this week, giving Season 04 Reloaded its strangest headline addition alongside the usual spread of maps, modes, weapons and event rewards.
The mid-season update launches on June 25 across PC, PlayStation and Xbox. According to the official Call of Duty blog, Cage arrives through a new Nick Cage Event Pass covering Endgame, multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone. The actor is locked to the paid premium reward track, while the free track includes the Executioner's Duet melee weapon and the returning AN-94 assault rifle.
The premium track also includes an "Unlimited" Nick Cage Operator Skin, a finishing move, weapon blueprints, a HUD theme, an emote and other cosmetics. The update frames his arrival as part of Summer of Action, a separate daily login event with tier skips, double XP tokens and a Catharsis X9 Maverick assault rifle blueprint.
Season 04 Reloaded is not only a celebrity skin drop. Black Ops 7 multiplayer gets Zenith, a new medium-sized 6v6 and 2v2 map set around a cliffside compound, plus Launch, a remastered map from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. Team Blueprint Sharpshooter and Knife Fight return, while Black Ops Classic becomes a permanent mode with Launch, Fringe, Hacienda and Gridlock added to its rotation.
Zombies players get Kowakujō, a new round-based map set in a feudal Japanese castle in the Dark Aether. It adds Oni enemies, Hellhounds, Scorched Zombies, a classified Wonder Weapon, Cursed mode rewards and a main quest that goes live with the map on June 25 at 9AM PT.
Warzone's side of the update brings warmer weather back to Rebirth Island, while keeping the Season 02 additions such as Turbine and Outpost. Squad Gun Game joins the Resurgence rotation, Buy Back Quads runs from July 9 through 13 and Champion's Quest returns for squads that can qualify through five straight Core Battle Royale wins or 30 seasonal wins.
The timing gives Cage's operator a slightly different edge than earlier Call of Duty crossovers. Infinity Ward has already said Modern Warfare 4 cosmetics will stay grounded, with collaborations and skins expected to fit that game's campaign tone. Modern Warfare 4 is also set to launch on October 23, so Season 04 Reloaded may be one of the last big stops for Call of Duty's louder celebrity crossover era before the next mainline release changes the mood.
A limited Black Ops 7 free trial is also planned for Season 04 Reloaded, with access to multiplayer and Zombies but not Multiplayer Ranked Play. Activision has not announced the exact trial dates yet.
