Assassin's Creed Hexe has another round of unconfirmed leaks to add to the pile, and this one shifts attention from Ezio Auditore to a new mentor figure reportedly named Wolfgang. The latest claims, attributed to Assassin's Creed leaker xj0nathan, say Wolfgang appears early in the story as an older guide for protagonist Anika before Ezio enters the picture later through memory discs or Isu technology.
Ubisoft has not confirmed any of that. The company has only described Codename Hexe as a darker, narrative-driven Assassin's Creed from Ubisoft Montreal, so the new details should be treated as rumor until the publisher properly shows the game.
Wolfgang could complicate Anika's rumored mentor setup
A DSOGaming report on the leak says Wolfgang is described as morally grey and controversial, with the character compared to Pierre Bellec from Assassin's Creed Unity. The claim is not just that Hexe has another Assassin mentor, but that Wolfgang serves as the rougher counterweight to Ezio's supposedly warmer guidance.
That would be a notable twist if the earlier Assassin's Creed Hexe leak about Anika and the Würzburg Witch Trials proves accurate. Previous claims said Anika is connected to Claudia Auditore's bloodline, giving Ubisoft a possible in-universe reason to involve Ezio without making him physically present in the 17th century.
The new leak also repeats that Anika's full name may be Anika Adler, though that part appears less certain than the Wolfgang claim. It also suggests Hexe will include both traditional Assassin robes and outfits inspired by witches, which fits the game's long-rumored witch-trial setting.

The reported screenshot matches Ubisoft's darker pitch
The same leak cycle has also produced what is being presented as a first screenshot from Hexe. The image is dark and difficult to read, but it appears to show an Assassin in black moving through a forest, which lines up with Ubisoft's own limited framing of Hexe as the franchise's darker next mainline entry.
The screenshot alone does not prove the character or story claims. It does, however, fit the tone Ubisoft has been hinting at since Hexe's reveal, when the project was shown with a short forest teaser and a twig-made Assassin insignia. In March, Ubisoft said Hexe is being made with "great care" by its veteran Montreal team and called it a "unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin's Creed experience" set during a pivotal moment in history.
That official wording is broad enough to leave room for almost anything, which is why the leak is getting attention. A paranoid witch-trial setting, a protagonist hunted as a witch and a mentor split between Wolfgang and Ezio would give Hexe a sharper identity than another open-world historical tour.
Ubisoft is also dealing with heavy speculation around its next Assassin's Creed projects. The company recently pushed back on a leaked Assassin's Creed Invictus image as heavily altered and probably AI-generated, so caution is especially important here. xj0nathan has a stronger reputation than many accounts in the Assassin's Creed leak scene, but the story, character and screenshot claims remain unofficial.
If Wolfgang is real, he may end up being more than a side character. A morally compromised mentor arriving before Ezio would give Anika a more conflicted path into the Brotherhood, which could be exactly the kind of darker narrative turn Ubisoft has been teasing. Until Hexe reappears through official channels, though, this is still a leak about a game Ubisoft is deliberately keeping in the shadows.
