Payday 2 is about to end one of the longest runs in Xbox Game Pass history. Microsoft's June Game Pass update lists the co-op heist shooter among eight games leaving the library on June 30, which gives subscribers one final day to play it through the service.
The departure is bigger than a normal end-of-month rotation because Payday 2 has been tied to Game Pass since the subscription launched in 2017. It is leaving alongside Slay the Spire, Unpacking, Mecha Break, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Volcano Princess and two Tomb Raider games.
Microsoft's own lineup post confirmed the eight-game removal list earlier this month, when it also detailed the second June 2026 Game Pass wave. The fresh wrinkle is the timing: June 30 is now hours away, so anyone midway through a campaign, roguelike climb or co-op backlog pick is running out of subscription access.

Payday 2 is the headline loss because of its age on the service. The Crimewave Edition was part of the original Xbox Game Pass catalog when Microsoft launched the service on June 1, 2017, and Game Rant's catalog tracking notes that its stint lasted roughly nine years. That is an unusually long shelf life for a third-party subscription title, especially now that Game Pass removals tend to arrive in predictable mid-month and month-end batches.
Slay the Spire is another notable removal. The deckbuilding roguelike has been one of the strongest evergreen indies in the catalog, with short runs that can turn into long sessions across console, cloud and PC. Unpacking is much smaller in scope, but its three-to-five-hour length makes it the easiest game on the list to finish before it disappears.
The Tomb Raider pair leaves a different kind of gap. Tomb Raider and Rise of Tomb Raider cover the first two chapters of Crystal Dynamics' reboot trilogy, so their removal cuts into one of the more obvious action-adventure marathons in the service's library.
Game Pass members usually get a discount on titles before they rotate out, and Xbox Wire repeats that reminder for this batch. June still ends with several new additions in the catalog, including RV There Yet? on June 30, but the removal list is worth checking first. Once June 30 passes, these eight games will need a separate purchase or another platform to keep playing.
