The Crew Motorfest is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, giving Ubisoft's open-world racer a new portable console release more than two years after its original launch.

Ubisoft announced the Switch 2 version will be sold both digitally through the Nintendo eShop and as a physical retail edition. The publisher also notes that an online connection is required to play.

Set across the Hawaiian archipelago, The Crew Motorfest is a car-culture racing game focused on open-road driving, themed campaigns, vehicle collecting and customization. Ubisoft's announcement also mentions community-made tracks through TrackForge, the creation tool that lets players build and share their own routes.

The Switch 2 release gives the system another larger third-party racing option during its first full year on shelves. It also arrives after Ubisoft's recent support for the game on existing platforms, including Season 10's new vehicle lineup.

Ubisoft has not listed any Switch 2-specific technical details in the announcement, such as resolution, frame rate or whether the version will include platform-specific features. The confirmed details are the October 8 release date, digital and physical availability and the online requirement.
