Take-Two Interactive is still treating Grand Theft Auto 6 as a November 19, 2026 launch, with CEO Strauss Zelnick pushing back on the latest round of delay and preorder speculation around Rockstar's next game.
In a new interview with Variety, Zelnick said a GTA 6 price announcement was not coming alongside Take-Two's latest earnings release. He also said Rockstar's marketing campaign is still expected to begin in summer, not during the next few weeks.
"I think reiterating November 19 as is a launch day today is probably a positive. I think we've been really clear that we're releasing the title on November 19."
The reaffirmed date lands after two schedule changes since GTA 6's first trailer. Rockstar originally announced a 2025 window, then shifted the game to May 26, 2026 before confirming November 19 as the new date last year. The official GTA 6 page now lists the same November 19 date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
GTA 6 marketing still sounds tied to summer
The timing is important for anyone waiting on preorders, pricing or another trailer. Zelnick told Variety that Take-Two does not make marketing announcements during analyst calls, adding that Rockstar expects to start marketing GTA 6 once it is actually summer.
The comment follows a recent retail rumor that suggested GTA 6 preorders could begin in May. That claim has not been confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two, and Zelnick said he did not know where the rumor came from in a Bloomberg interview referenced by reporter Jason Schreier. It also lines up with Take-Two's broader messaging that the major marketing push is still ahead, not already underway.
Take-Two's latest earnings release also keeps GTA 6 inside the company's fiscal 2027 plan. The publisher said it expects $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion in net bookings for the year ending March 31, 2027, with Zelnick saying those record-level expectations are driven by the November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 and the rest of Take-Two's pipeline.
The game remains announced only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. Rockstar has not announced a PC version.
Take-Two's message is still November 19. Pricing, preorder timing and the next major look at GTA 6 are waiting on Rockstar's summer marketing campaign, but the publisher is not signaling another delay.
