Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick says the marketing push for Grand Theft Auto 6 will begin "soon," keeping attention on Rockstar's next reveal as the game moves toward its current November 19, 2026 release date.
Zelnick made the comment during iicon, the Entertainment Software Association's new Las Vegas industry event. According to Game File, Variety's Jenny Maas asked when GTA 6 marketing would begin, and Zelnick would not give a specific date beyond saying it would be soon. That leaves Rockstar's next trailer, pre-order details and wider rollout timing unannounced, but it is still the clearest recent signal that Take-Two expects the quiet stretch to end.
GTA 6 is already the industry's biggest upcoming release by gravity alone. Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto VI site currently lists the game as coming November 19, 2026 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Jason and Lucia at the center of a Vice City and Leonida crime story. Rockstar has not announced a PC version, pricing, editions or pre-orders.
The timing of a renewed marketing campaign matters because GTA 6 has spent long periods with very little official information. Rockstar has released two major trailers and updated its official site with character and location details, but the studio still has not shown a full gameplay breakdown. Our GTA 6 overview tracks the confirmed release date, platforms, setting and remaining unknowns.
Zelnick also framed the pressure around GTA 6 in unusually big terms during the iicon appearance.
"What we think about is making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history – and it’s a pretty daunting challenge. If we do that, and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself," Zelnick said.
Asked about the launch date, Zelnick joked, "I expect a lot of people will be calling in sick on November 19." The line is not a new trailer or a formal delay update, but it does reinforce that Take-Two is still talking around the November date shown on Rockstar's own site.
Zelnick also addressed pricing without announcing a GTA 6 price. He said that "consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery." That keeps the final price and edition lineup in the pile of unanswered questions until Rockstar or Take-Two makes them official.
The practical news is simple: GTA 6's next marketing phase is coming, but the date has not been locked publicly. Until Rockstar says more, November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S remains the confirmed launch plan, and the next major reveal is still waiting just offstage.
