Pokémon TCG Pocket is getting its next themed booster pack on May 27, with Paradox Drive bringing Ancient and Future Pokémon into the mobile card game. The expansion is inspired by the Paradox Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, including Koraidon and Miraidon.

The Pokémon Company has opened an official Paradox Drive page for the expansion, while the Pokémon TCG Pocket site now teases the set with the line, "The rift is opening and Paradox Pokémon are coming." The launch is scheduled for the evening of May 27 PDT.

Paradox Drive is more than a new batch of collectible cards. Ancient and Future cards are being introduced as subcategories, and the announcement says players will be able to make stronger decks by pairing those cards with others from the same subcategory. That gives the set a mechanical hook beyond its Scarlet and Violet theme, although the exact depth of those synergies will not be clear until the expansion is live.

One of the headline cards shown so far is Raging Bolt, whose attack requires two Water Energy, two Electric Energy and one Colorless Energy. Its payoff is direct: it can knock out the opponent's Active Pokémon regardless of HP. Ancient Booster Energy Capsule and Future Booster Energy Capsule have also been shown as Pokémon Tool cards.

The expansion arrives as Pokémon TCG Pocket is coming off a major reach milestone. DeNA's digital card game recently passed 200 million downloads across platforms, giving Paradox Drive a large audience on day one and another chance to test how far Pocket-specific mechanics can push deck-building.

Several events are also planned around the new set. The Paradox Drive Emblem Event runs from late May into early June, with battles offering emblems, shinedust and other items. Community Week follows in early June with trade hourglasses, accessories and rewards tied to trading and sharing cards.

Two more events are planned for mid to late June. The Ceruledge ex Drop Event will add special solo battles for B Series promo packs vol. 9, while a Wonder Pick Event will feature Sableye and Floragato promo cards.
