Warner Bros. Games and HBO have revealed *Game of Thrones: Dragonfire*, a free-to-play mobile strategy game for iOS and Android. The companies announced through Warner Bros. Discovery's pressroom that pre-registration is open through the App Store, Google Play and the game's official website, though the game still does not have a firm release date.
Despite carrying the broader *Game of Thrones* name, *Dragonfire* is tied closely to *House of the Dragon*. Warner Bros. describes players as Valyrian descendants who hatch, raise and command dragons while fighting for control of Westeros.
The game is built around tactical warfare, territorial expansion, base growth and alliance systems. Players will build a stronghold, gather resources, upgrade forces and work with other players while encountering both familiar faces from the show and original characters created for the game.
Warner Bros. Games Boston is developing the project. The studio, previously known as Turbine, has a long history with online games, including *Asheron's Call*, *Dungeons & Dragons Online*, *The Lord of the Rings Online* and *Game of Thrones: Conquest*.
Pre-registration comes with milestone rewards tied to total sign-ups. Warner Bros. says registered players will receive launch rewards, including in-game currency and a rare dragon, with larger community milestones unlocking additional bonuses.
That structure makes *Dragonfire* look like an ongoing live-service mobile strategy game rather than a one-off premium adaptation. For *Game of Thrones* fans, the more interesting question is whether its dragon-raising and alliance systems can make the *House of the Dragon* setting feel distinct from the older wave of Westeros mobile games.
