A new Persona 6 leak claims Atlus is targeting September 2027 for the next mainline RPG, with alleged character art also circulating online.
The report, published by Game Rant, attributes the leak to Chinese leaker Lolilolailo, who reportedly posted six images on Xiaohongshu, also known as RedNote. The images are said to have come from an outsourcing studio connected to Persona 6 development, but Sega and Atlus have not announced the game or confirmed the release window.
According to the report, four of the alleged images show a blonde male character described as Persona 6's protagonist. If accurate, that would be a notable visual break for the series, whose recent mainline leads have leaned heavily on darker-haired designs, including Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5.
Two of the images reportedly show a dark-haired female character. One sketch sheet is said to include a machine-translated label reading "facial expressions" and "Kugabe Neiko / Yasuko," which may refer to the character's name. The material also lines up with earlier rumors that Persona 6 could feature two protagonists, although the exact setup remains unclear.
The leak adds a date to a long-running Persona 6 rumor cycle
The September 2027 claim is separate from the images and was not backed by a detailed explanation in the report. Other alleged materials mentioned in the same leak include a subway sketch labeled "P6" and a computer screen showing a list of PNG files supposedly tied to the project.
Persona 6 has been one of Atlus' most anticipated unannounced games for years, partly because Persona 5 pushed the series to a much larger global audience. The current official Persona site still focuses on existing releases such as Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable, and Sega has not opened a public Persona 6 page.
That leaves the useful part of this leak narrow but still important for fans: it offers a specific claimed release month and possible character direction, not confirmation. Until Atlus or Sega reveals the game, the September 2027 window, blonde protagonist art and possible dual-protagonist clues should all be treated as unverified.
