Nintendo Switch 2 is getting more expensive in South Korea. Nintendo Korea has confirmed that the console's recommended retail price will rise from ₩648,000 to ₩758,000 on September 1, 2026.

That is a ₩110,000 increase for anyone buying the hardware after the change takes effect, or roughly a 17% jump over the current Korean price. The announcement only names the Nintendo Switch 2 console itself, not software, accessories or bundles.

Nintendo says the new price follows market changes

In a Nintendo Korea notice, the company said it reviewed the future global business outlook for Nintendo Switch 2 because of "changes in various market environments" before deciding to adjust the recommended consumer price in South Korea.

Nintendo Korea also apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers and related parties. The notice does not give a more detailed cost breakdown, and Nintendo has not announced another Korean price change beyond the September 1 increase.

The change lands while Switch 2 is still early in its life as Nintendo's current console, so the price is moving up before many late adopters have made the jump.

Korean players who were waiting to buy the system still have until the end of August at the current ₩648,000 price. From September 1, the higher ₩758,000 price becomes the official recommended retail price.
