Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 could be getting one of the series' more player-friendly launch perks, if a new storefront listing is accurate. A reported Xbox Store entry for a "Campaign Early Access Pack" suggests Activision may let some players start the single-player campaign before the full game goes live.
That detail has not been announced by Activision or Infinity Ward. Game Rant reported that the pack appeared on the Microsoft storefront, while the standard public Xbox Store listing and Activision's official pre-order guide currently list Early Access to the Open Beta as the confirmed pre-order benefit. Neither public page confirms early campaign access at this stage.
What is officially confirmed so far
Activision has already opened pre-orders for Modern Warfare 4 ahead of its October 23, 2026 launch. Digital pre-orders include Open Beta early access and the Hunter Killer Operator Skin, while the Vault Edition adds operator packs, a Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell and a DMZ Deployment Bonus.
The reported campaign pack would be a separate kind of perk. Instead of letting players into a multiplayer beta, it would point to early access for Modern Warfare 4's story mode, potentially giving campaign-focused fans a head start before multiplayer, DMZ and the wider launch rush begin. Activision has used campaign early access with some past Call of Duty releases, but until the publisher announces it for Modern Warfare 4, the listing should be treated as unconfirmed.
Modern Warfare 4 has been moving quickly since its reveal. Infinity Ward confirmed that Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The game is also leaving PS4 and Xbox One behind, a break that follows Activision's wider move away from last-gen Call of Duty support.
Why campaign timing would stand out
The campaign is a bigger part of Modern Warfare 4's pitch than a simple story wrapper. Infinity Ward is setting the game around a full-scale invasion of South Korea, with Captain Price returning in a darker follow-up to Modern Warfare III. Xbox Wire's reveal interview described a large campaign with missions across Korea, New York City, Paris and other locations, plus new South Korean squad members fighting on the front lines.
That puts more weight on any campaign access plan. If the leaked pack is real, it would give players a clearer reason to pre-order beyond the already announced beta access, cosmetics and Vault Edition bonuses. It would also let Activision separate the campaign conversation from multiplayer balance, server queues and launch-day live-service noise.
For now, the confirmed offer is narrower. Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders include Open Beta early access, the game is not coming to Game Pass at launch and Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order details are still due later this year. A campaign early access pack would be notable, but it remains a storefront clue until Activision says more.
