League of Legends Worlds 2026 is already hard to get into, months before the championship match. Tickets for the annual esports event are appearing on resale marketplaces at huge markups, with PCGamesN reporting SeatGeek listings starting at $1,860 and climbing to roughly $169,000 for a suite seat.
The price spike follows the opening of general admission sales for Worlds 2026 on July 24. Ticketmaster's event help page lists Worlds shows in Allen, Texas from October 23 through November 8, before the championship heads to Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 14.
Riot tried to put a verification layer in front of the sale this year. In its Worlds 2026 ticketing announcement, the LoL Esports team said Fan First Verification would use Riot IDs and matching Ticketmaster account emails to help combat bots and prioritize players. Verified fans were eligible for presale access on July 22, while general admission tickets went live two days later.
That process has not stopped high-priced resale listings from becoming the story around the event. PCGamesN also pointed to unconfirmed fan claims that only a small number of general admission tickets were available when sales opened, though Riot has not confirmed that figure. The safer, confirmed part is that many fans missed out, and the secondary market quickly became expensive.
Riot has already said another ticket wave is coming. The official LoL Esports account said more tickets will be available at the end of August, giving fans one more shot through the Fan First system before Worlds reaches Brooklyn.
The frustration lands at an awkward time for a game Riot is also leaning on for nostalgia and wider franchise growth. League of Legends Classic launches this week, and Worlds remains the biggest yearly showcase for the competitive side of the MOBA. If the August ticket wave works better, it could pull the conversation back toward the tournament. If it sells out into more inflated listings, the biggest League event of the year may spend the run-up fighting the same access problem again.
