Blizzard set its next Diablo IV developer update livestream for April 23 at 11:00 a.m. PT, with the broadcast focused on the Lord of Hatred expansion and upcoming seasonal updates. The studio said the stream would cover final launch details, new class skill trees, the Talisman system, the Horadric Cube, new endgame systems and more.
The stream was also tied to a short Twitch Drops campaign, giving Diablo IV viewers a reason to tune in beyond the expansion breakdown. Blizzard said players could earn two cosmetic rewards by watching eligible Diablo IV streams with drops enabled.
Lord of Hatred systems were the focus
The Lord of Hatred update stream was positioned as a deeper look at the expansion's major systems rather than a broad teaser. New class skill trees are especially important for Diablo IV players, since skill tree changes can reshape builds, leveling routes and endgame plans across every class.
The Horadric Cube is another key name for longtime Diablo fans. Blizzard did not detail its full Lord of Hatred implementation in the announcement, but its inclusion in the stream lineup signaled that the team planned to spend time on systems with direct buildcrafting and endgame implications.
The announcement follows other recent Lord of Hatred news, including a Nintendo Switch rating that surfaced before any confirmed port announcement. Blizzard's own stream announcement, however, stayed focused on expansion content, seasonal updates and livestream rewards.
Twitch Drops were available during the stream
While the developer update was live, viewers could watch any drops-enabled livestream in the Diablo IV category to earn cosmetics. Blizzard listed the Decaying Corona staff cosmetic for watching 30 minutes and the Double Trouble sword cosmetic for watching one hour.

The Twitch Drops window ran until April 24, 2026 at 10:59 a.m. PT. Blizzard also said owning Diablo IV or Vessel of Hatred was not required to make progress toward the drops, though rewards need a linked Battle.net account to be claimed properly.
Players could earn progress through a PC or Mac web browser or through the Twitch app on Android and iOS. Blizzard noted that Twitch apps on consoles, smart TVs and other TV apps do not support drops, and that watching multiple streams at once would not speed up progress.
Blizzard said the developer update would end with a Q&A section, with viewers able to ask questions directly to the team. The studio also said it would post a follow-up article with a video of the chat after the livestream for players who missed it.
