Diablo 4 is getting its first major Lord of Hatred update on May 13, and the biggest everyday change may be how quickly players can get back to the expansion's new endgame loop.
According to Blizzard's official Diablo 4 patch notes, update 3.0.2 adds the ability to teleport directly to an active War Plan. If no War Plan is active, the teleport sends the player to Temis instead. That should cut down on travel friction in one of Lord of Hatred's central systems, especially now that the expansion has had a few days for players to settle into its endgame rhythm.
The patch follows the launch of Lord of Hatred's new classes, Mephisto fight and loot filter, giving Blizzard an early chance to address progression blockers, broken item interactions and visibility complaints before they harden into longer-term annoyances.
Talismans get clearer drops and Druid changes
Talismans are one of update 3.0.2's main targets. Set Charms will now use a unique drop sound and a distinct minimap icon, making them easier to spot in Diablo 4's usual flood of loot. Blizzard is also updating the tooltip for the Rogue's Nilfur's Narrow Eye Talisman 3-piece set bonus so it is clearer that its full bonuses depend on Vengeance being active.
Druids are getting several Storm Shephard changes. The 5-piece bonus will stack with the damage bonus from the 2-piece bonus instead of overriding it, while the 2-piece bonus will increase all Storm Skill damage while active, not only the Storm Skill that consumed Spirit. To offset that wider effect, its maximum bonus is dropping from 75% to 40%.
Blizzard is also changing Mark of the Old Wolf, adding Damage over Time Multiplier bonuses to its direct damage bonus and making its Poisoning damage bonus multiplicative instead of additive.
Several disabled class tools return
Update 3.0.2 is also restoring a handful of class tools that were blocked because of bugs or balance problems. Armored Hide's Trampled Under Foot skill variant for Spiritborn will be re-enabled after the patch, following a fix for cases where it could deal far more damage than intended. Rogue players will get The Umbracrux back after Blizzard fixed damage over time behavior that could make it hit far harder than planned, while Sorcerers will see The Oculus unblocked after fixes affecting drops and its next-cast bonuses.
The rest of the notes are broad. Echo of Mephisto and Echoing Hatred are being added to Party Finder, new loading screen tips will explain Lord of Hatred features and the Chromatic Tuning Prism tooltip is being clarified. Blizzard also lists fixes for campaign quests, War Plans, the Horadric Cube, Undercity of Kurast, class skills, dungeons, Whispers, The Pit, UI issues, Season objectives and stability.
That scope makes 3.0.2 more than a tiny hotfix, even if much of it is cleanup. Diablo 4's Lord of Hatred rollout has already been the focus of Blizzard's developer update cycle, and this patch looks aimed at keeping the new systems moving smoothly while Season 13 continues without a separate seasonal mechanic competing for attention.
