Cyberpunk 2077 is pulling a larger PC crowd on Steam as a deep discount puts CD Projekt Red's open-world RPG back in front of players who skipped it at full price.
In Gamers Now's 17:50 UTC reading of Steam's public most-played chart on June 19, Cyberpunk 2077 ranked No. 42 with 39,830 players in-game. The rank itself was three places lower than Steam's weekly comparison line, but the live player count is higher than the game's recent weekday pattern. Gamers Now's June 19 checks reached 47,531 players earlier in the day, while the highest readings from June 16 through June 18 sat closer to 32,000 to 34,000.
The Steam store page gives the rebound a clear sales-window backdrop. Steam currently lists Cyberpunk 2077 at 70% off, dropping the base game from $59.99 to $17.99 in the US. That does not turn the player count into a sales figure, but it does give late PC players and returning Night City tourists a timely reason to launch the game again.

The discount puts a five-year-old RPG back near Steam's top 40
Cyberpunk 2077 first launched in 2020 and has had a much longer Steam life than its rocky release might have suggested. CD Projekt Red rebuilt large parts of the game through major updates, then expanded it with Phantom Liberty in 2023. In 2026, the pitch to new Steam buyers is simpler: Night City is much cheaper than usual and the base game still has enough active PC players to sit in Steam's top 50.
The discount is doing more work than the rank line. Cyberpunk 2077 held No. 42 through Friday's readings, while the top of Steam remained dominated by daily fixtures such as Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2 and PUBG: Battlegrounds. The sharper movement is in the live audience: a single-player RPG from 2020 is drawing a stronger weekday crowd during a sale window than Gamers Now recorded earlier in the week.
For players, the practical news is the discount. Anyone waiting for a cheaper route into Cyberpunk 2077 has one on Steam right now. For CD Projekt Red, the movement keeps one of its biggest games visible on PC long after the main launch cycle and Phantom Liberty's release window have passed.
