Baldur's Gate 3 is having one of its strongest recent Steam weekends just as Larian's RPG heads into its third anniversary.
In Gamers Now's 17:50 UTC check of Steam's public most-played chart on August 2, Baldur's Gate 3 ranked No. 32 with 76,041 players in-game. That is above the 64,761 players recorded at the same point on Saturday and ahead of the 69,252-player comparable reading from last Sunday.
The move also puts Baldur's Gate 3 above the weekday pattern from late July, when the same evening check usually sat closer to 50,000 players. Steam's weekly comparison currently places the game four spots higher than its previous listed rank, from No. 36 to No. 32.
A 30% Steam discount lands before the anniversary
The biggest public change around the game is on the store page. Steam currently lists Baldur's Gate 3 at 30% off in the US, dropping the price from $59.99 to $41.99. The same page lists the game's full release date as August 3, 2023, putting the discount directly ahead of its third anniversary.
Baldur's Gate 3 remains one of Steam's bigger paid RPGs three years after launch. The store page describes it as a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, with online co-op for up to four players, Origin heroes and the Dark Urge route alongside custom characters.

The No. 32 placement keeps Baldur's Gate 3 in a different part of Steam's most-played chart than the usual free-to-play leaders, but it is still a strong showing for a premium RPG with a long campaign and no seasonal reset driving everyone toward the same new queue.
Weekend traffic lifts concurrent counts across Steam. Even against that backdrop, Baldur's Gate 3 is higher than the past two Sunday evening readings in Gamers Now's Steam checks and is back above 75,000 concurrent players as the anniversary window opens.
For anyone who waited past launch, the change is simple. Baldur's Gate 3 is cheaper on Steam than it was last week and the PC player base is active enough to push it back toward the upper third of Valve's most-played list.
