Sony has opened pre-orders for the PlayStation FlexStrike wireless fight stick, giving PS5 and PC fighting game fans a first-party arcade-style controller ahead of a busy August for the genre. The controller launches globally starting August 6, 2026 and is priced at $199.99 in the U.S.

According to PlayStation Blog, pre-orders began on June 12 through PlayStation Direct where available and at participating retailers. Sony also lists regional RRPs of €199.99, £179.99 and ¥34,980 including tax.

FlexStrike is pitched as PlayStation's first wireless fight stick, with support for both PlayStation Link wireless and wired USB-C connections. Sony says the controller is built for PS5 and PC, although PC compatibility will roll out after launch and expand to more users over time.

The timing is not accidental. FlexStrike arrives the same day as Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the PS5 console-exclusive fighting game from Arc System Works and Sony. That gives PlayStation a new hardware accessory landing alongside one of its biggest fighting game bets of 2026.

What FlexStrike includes

The official FlexStrike product page lists a custom-designed digital stick, mechanical-switch buttons, a built-in rechargeable battery and an included sling carry case. Sony says the battery can last up to 40 hours of wireless play, depending on use, settings and environment.

The controller includes square, circle and octagon restrictor gates for the lever. The square gate comes pre-installed, while the circle and octagon options are designed for different movement preferences, from smoother 360-degree inputs to more defined corner feel for quarter-circle and half-circle motions.

On PS5, the included PlayStation Link adapter can connect up to two FlexStrike fight sticks at once. Sony also says players can keep a DualSense connected alongside the fight stick, use the PS button to wake the console after setup and connect a PlayStation Link audio device through the same adapter.

The product page names several fighting games alongside FlexStrike, including Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear Strive, WWE 2K26 and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. That range makes the controller less of a single-game accessory and more of a dedicated option for players who spend serious time in modern fighters.

Sony's broader August hardware slate also includes the 27-inch PlayStation Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook, launching in the U.S. and Japan on August 27 for $349.99. Pulse Elevate wireless speakers are still planned for later in 2026, with pricing and pre-order details to come.
