Sony has put a date and price on its PlayStation 27-inch Gaming Monitor, turning one of its more unusual PS5 accessories from a concept into a retail product. The QHD desktop display launches August 27, 2026 in the U.S. and Japan for $349.99 in the U.S. and ¥49,980 in Japan.
According to PlayStation Blog, pre-orders start June 5 through direct.playstation.com and Best Buy in the U.S., with participating retailers in Japan. Sony says PlayStation Direct pre-orders will be available in limited quantities, with the U.S. window opening at 10:00am ET.
The monitor is aimed at players who use a PS5 or PS5 Pro at a desk instead of a living-room TV. It uses a 27-inch IPS panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, VRR support and refresh rates up to 120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Compatible PC and Mac devices can go higher, with refresh rates up to 240Hz.

The signature PlayStation feature is built into the back of the display. A charging hook can hold a DualSense or DualSense Edge controller, giving the monitor a small piece of console-specific utility that most PC-focused gaming monitors do not have. Sony also lists Auto HDR Tone Mapping support for PS5 and PS5 Pro setup, which should help the display tune HDR output when connected to the console.
Connectivity is broad enough for a mixed desk setup. Sony's earlier product breakdown lists two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, built-in stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio output and compatibility with select VESA mounting systems. HDMI and DisplayPort cables are not included.
The monitor is launching alongside a wider PlayStation accessory push. Sony is also releasing the FlexStrike wireless fight stick on August 6, while Pulse Elevate wireless speakers are planned for later in 2026. Together, the products show Sony leaning harder into desktop play, not just the traditional couch-and-TV PS5 setup.
