Kingdom Hearts is getting a cleaner route onto Nintendo's new hardware. Square Enix has announced Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], a bundle that brings the earlier saga to Nintendo Switch 2 as native releases on October 8, 2026 instead of relying on the cloud versions that carried the series on the original Switch.

The collection was shown in a new Nintendo of America trailer during the June 9 Direct, the same showcase Nintendo had dated for Switch 2 and Switch news. Square Enix's own announcement adds that the bundle is also coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Microsoft Store on Windows. Pre-orders are live across all platforms.

Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] announcement trailer
Nintendo's trailer confirms Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for Nintendo Switch 2.

The package gathers Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC). Square Enix describes that as 10 experiences covering the main story through Kingdom Hearts III, with Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy moving through Disney and Pixar worlds while the series' original cast weaves in and out of the long-running Keyblade saga.

The Switch 2 detail is the real practical change for Nintendo players. Kingdom Hearts arrived on Switch in 2022 through cloud versions, which meant performance and access depended heavily on streaming conditions. A native Switch 2 release should make the collection feel much closer to a normal handheld and docked library release, especially for an action RPG series where timing, camera movement and long play sessions matter.

It also gives Square Enix a tidier on-ramp before Kingdom Hearts IV. The publisher separately confirmed that Kingdom Hearts IV is planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, though it has not announced a release date. Bringing the older arc to current platforms first makes sense for a series with a reputation for complicated continuity, side entries that matter and major story beats scattered across several releases.

Square Enix's official collection page says Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind will also have a demo. The demo includes two playable sections: the opening stretch through the early stages of Olympus, and the start of Toy Box through the midpoint of that world. Save data from the first section can carry into the full game.

There is also a discount note for some existing owners. Players who own digital versions of Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind individually on Nintendo Switch Cloud Version, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One are eligible for a 50% discount on digital pre-orders and digital post-launch purchases. Square Enix's wording is specific to Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind, not a blanket discount across the full bundle.

The announcement leaves a few details open, including pricing and the exact breakdown of individual purchases versus the full collection across each storefront. What is confirmed now is the date and platform plan: Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] launches October 8, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows through the Microsoft Store, with the Switch 2 version finally moving the series beyond cloud streaming on Nintendo hardware.
