Hogwarts Legacy Is Free on the Epic Games Store Until May 3

*Hogwarts Legacy* is free to claim on the Epic Games Store, but the offer is only live for a few days. According to Game Rant, PC players have until May 3 at 8 am PT / 11 am ET to add Avalanche Software's Wizarding World RPG to their Epic library at no cost.

The promotion is notable because it is not part of Epic's standard weekly free-game rotation. Epic's regular freebies currently include *Firestone Online IDLE RPG* and *Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure* until May 7, when *Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure* and *Trash Goblin* are due to replace them. *Hogwarts Legacy* sits outside that normal schedule, with a shorter claim window and a much bigger name attached.

Players can claim the game through the Hogwarts Legacy Epic Games Store page by signing in, selecting the free offer and completing the checkout flow. The offer may have regional limitations, so the store listing is the best place to confirm local availability before the deadline.

A short free window for one of Warner Bros.' biggest games

*Hogwarts Legacy* launched in 2023 and quickly became one of Warner Bros. Games' biggest releases. The game sold more than 12 million copies and generated over $850 million in global sales revenue during its first two weeks, then later passed 40 million copies sold.

The free Epic offer also arrives while the Dark Arts Pack is discounted by 60 percent during the promotion period. That pack includes the Thestral mount, the Dark Arts Cosmetic Set and the Dark Arts Battle Arena.

For anyone who skipped the game at launch, the official *Hogwarts Legacy* site describes it as an open-world action RPG set in the 1800s, long before the events of the Harry Potter books. Players create their own student, explore Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest and the surrounding area, learn spells, brew potions and fight trolls, Dark Wizards, goblins and other threats.

Reports around a sequel have continued to circulate, which makes this a timely chance to catch up on the first game or simply secure a PC copy through Epic before the offer disappears.
