Firefighting Simulator: Ignite has moved into vehicle rescue. The Motor Vehicle Accident Expansion is available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, adding traffic accident missions to weltenbauer's co-op emergency sim.
The expansion launches at the same time as the free Shannondale Update, giving the base game a broader rescue workload even for players who do not buy the DLC. In a launch announcement, publisher astragon Entertainment says the paid expansion costs $14.99, €14.99 or £12.99 and is also included in the Year 1 Season Pass.
The new DLC shifts part of the game away from pure fire response and into crash-site management. The Steam listing says the Motor Vehicle Accident Expansion adds five main missions, more side missions, vehicle extrication, sawing and leak-plugging mechanics. Players can use hydraulic rescue tools to pry open car doors, cut into crashed vehicles with a rescue chainsaw, control fires and handle hazards at the scene.
That is a useful change for a game whose pitch depends on procedure as much as spectacle. Firefighting Simulator: Ignite already asks players to read smoke, choose the right extinguishing agent and use licensed gear in solo play or four-player co-op. Vehicle rescue adds a different tempo: securing a crash scene, reaching trapped victims and dealing with secondary dangers before the incident gets worse.
The free Shannondale Update adds five missions of its own, plus one Motor Vehicle Accident main mission that acts as a sample of the expansion's rescue content. That makes today's update meaningful beyond a paid add-on, especially for players returning through subscriptions or free access windows.
PlayStation players have another reason to check in. astragon says Firefighting Simulator: Ignite is now available in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium subscribers on PS5. Steam players will get a free weekend from July 23 at 10:00am PT until July 26 at 1:00pm PT, with the base game also discounted on Valve's store at the time of writing.
Firefighting Simulator: Ignite first launched in September 2025. The official site describes it as a U.S.-set firefighting sim with NPC crew support in single-player, four-player co-op multiplayer, real-time fire, heat, water and smoke simulation, licensed Rosenbauer America fire trucks and modding support through Mod.io. It is developed by weltenbauer. Software Entwicklung and published by astragon Entertainment.
The Motor Vehicle Accident Expansion is available now for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The base game is required, although the new Shannondale missions give existing players fresh calls to answer without buying the expansion.
