*Yet Another Zombie Defense HD* is free to keep on Steam until July 30, giving PC players a short window to claim Awesome Games Studio's 2017 co-op zombie shooter at no cost.
The giveaway is tied to the studio's newly announced launch plan for *Yet Another Zombie Survivors*. In a press release, Awesome Games Studio said *Yet Another Zombie Defense HD* can be claimed on Steam from July 23 at 10 AM PT / 7 PM CEST through July 30. Once added to a Steam library, it stays there permanently.
The free Steam game is part of a bigger series push
*Yet Another Zombie Defense HD* blends top-down shooting with tower defense. Players spend the day building barricades, buying weapons, stocking ammo and setting up turrets, then try to survive increasingly dangerous zombie waves at night. The Steam listing also names local and online co-op for up to four players, three modes (Defense, Endless and Deathmatch), leaderboards and Steam Workshop support for custom characters and levels.
The promotion gives the older game a fresh spotlight before *Yet Another Zombie Survivors* leaves Early Access on August 20. Awesome Games Studio says the 1.0 release is coming to Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on the same day, with a Nintendo Switch version following later.
The studio is pitching version 1.0 as the game's biggest update so far. Planned additions include main story and side missions, a HUB area, a new Survivor, a new map, a new mode, arena bosses, achievements and challenges. During Early Access, *Yet Another Zombie Survivors* has sold more than 600,000 copies and earned more than 13,000 Steam reviews with a 91% Very Positive rating, according to the studio.
Steam's free-to-keep offers can be easy to miss because they are not always promoted like weekly storefront giveaways. This one is straightforward: claim *Yet Another Zombie Defense HD* before July 30 and it remains attached to the account after the promotion ends.
