Steam has another free-to-keep PC game available, but this one is tied to a new launch window instead of the storefront's regular short-term free game promotions. Linebound, a 2D asymmetric co-op puzzle platformer from publisher FutureBound, can be claimed for free through the end of June after launching on May 31.

The Steam page says Linebound is "free-to-keep for the first month post launch," which means anyone who adds it to their library during that window can keep it. After June, the game is expected to move to a paid premium model.

Linebound is designed for two players, but it splits the job in a way most co-op platformers do not. One player becomes the Artist and draws platforms into a living sketchbook in real time. The other controls Sketch, a hand-drawn character who has to use those drawn platforms to clear puzzle rooms and reach each exit.

Linebound uses a split responsibility co-op setup where one player draws and the other guides Sketch through the level.

The setup makes communication the core mechanic. The Artist sees the page from the outside, while Sketch moves inside the world itself, so both players are working with different information. Steam lists 15 handcrafted puzzle levels, a real-time platform drawing system and a hand-drawn presentation with pencil characters, crayon-colored platforms and doodled creatures.

There is one important multiplayer caveat. Linebound supports local co-op, while online play requires Steam Remote Play Together or Parsec because native online co-op is not included.

Linebound is not the only free Steam claim available right now. Moonrise Fall, an atmospheric exploration puzzle game from Made From Strings and GrabTheGames, is also discounted to free until June 2. Drift86, RewindApp's arcade drifting game, is discounted to free until June 3. Those two are older releases, while Linebound is the new launch-window offer with the longer June claim period.
