Geoff Keighley is raising expectations for Summer Game Fest 2026, saying the June 5 showcase will be the event's "biggest live show yet." The broadcast is scheduled for Friday at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM BST from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The official Summer Game Fest event page bills the show as a live, in-person and streamed look at "what's next in video games," with Keighley, Lucy James and thousands of fans in attendance. It also lists world premiere reveals plus publisher and developer showcases, which is the familiar SGF pitch: one multi-platform stage for trailers, release dates and surprise announcements.
Keighley's wording gives the 2026 show a bigger hook than a routine calendar reminder, but it does not confirm any specific games. That distinction is worth keeping. Summer Game Fest has become one of the main summer stops for publishers after E3's collapse, so even a vague hype post can send fans into prediction mode. It should still be read as a promise about the scale of the live show, not a reveal of the lineup.
The timing also puts SGF in the middle of a packed week. Sony has a State of Play set for June 2, while Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase follows on June 7. Xbox is also tied to Summer Game Fest Play Days this year, where nine playable demos are headed to the event for attendees.
Summer Game Fest's own page says viewers can watch through The Game Awards channels on YouTube and Twitch. With PlayStation, SGF and Xbox all stacked into the same week, the next few days should set the tone for a large chunk of the industry's 2026 release calendar.
