_Pragmata_ has doubled its early sales milestone in a little over two weeks, giving Capcom's new sci-fi IP a stronger launch story than many original games get.

Capcom announced that _Pragmata_ has surpassed 2 million units sold worldwide in 16 days. The company previously said the game topped 1 million units in two days, so the latest figure shows it kept moving after the initial rush around its April 17 launch.

The milestone is especially useful for Capcom because _Pragmata_ is not a sequel, remake or revival of one of the publisher's established brands. It is a new science-fiction action-adventure about Hugh Williams and Diana, an android girl, making their way through a near-future lunar world. Capcom describes its core hook as a fusion of action and puzzle elements, with the relationship between Hugh and Diana sitting at the center of the story.

Pragmata Keeps Building Beyond Its First Week

Capcom credited the game's continued sales growth to several factors, including a playable demo released before launch, its distinctive world and what the company called high praise from players worldwide. The publisher also pointed to _Pragmata_'s emotionally driven story, which follows the growing bond between a human and an android girl.

That second million matters because _Pragmata_ was always carrying more risk than a typical Capcom sequel. In its earlier 1 million sales announcement, Capcom said the game had no established fan base or preexisting brand recognition. The company also said the project was developed primarily by younger Capcom developers and was meant to offer an original gameplay experience.

Capcom has already hinted that the new IP could have a longer life. As Gamers Now covered earlier this month, Capcom USA COO Rob Dyer described _Pragmata_ as another IP the company could continue with, while stopping short of announcing a sequel.

_Pragmata_ is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom notes that the Switch 2 version launched on April 24 in Japan and other parts of Asia, one week after the game's global April 17 release on the other listed platforms.

The new total does not put _Pragmata_ in the same commercial lane as Capcom's biggest legacy franchises, but it gives the publisher a clearer success story for one of its rare new AAA properties. After years of delays and a long public wait, Hugh and Diana's lunar journey now has 2 million sales behind it.
