Resident Evil Requiem appears to have crossed another major sales line. A celebration image shared by director Koshi Nakaishi points to the survival horror sequel reaching 7 million copies sold, just over a month after Capcom said it had passed 6 million.

That earlier figure already made Requiem the fastest-selling game in Resident Evil history, according to Capcom president and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto. If the latest celebration reflects the current sales total, Requiem has added roughly another million copies in only a few weeks.

Resident Evil Requiem has reportedly climbed to 7 million copies sold.

The milestone was marked with cakes themed around Grace and Leon. One cake reportedly read "Grace, congratulations on 7m," with Grace emerging from white icing and bloody decoration. Leon had his own black-iced cake with the message "Welcome to 7m Leon," plus a pair of strawberries on top.

Requiem's pace stands out even inside Capcom's biggest horror series. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil Village, the two previous new mainline entries, have sold around 16.4 million and 13.5 million copies respectively since launching in 2017 and 2021. Requiem cleared 5 million sales in less than a week, then climbed to 6 million in March.

That momentum also explains why the game has stayed at the center of fan discussion beyond its sales numbers. Requiem closes one chapter of Leon's story while setting up another, and players are still picking apart what his apparent wedding ring might mean. Capcom has not given a firm answer yet.

For now, the sales picture is clearer than Leon's personal life. Requiem has moved from record-setting launch to 7 million celebration territory in a remarkably short window, keeping Capcom's flagship horror franchise on a strong commercial run.
