Wolfgang Krauser is back in Fatal Fury. As detailed on Xbox Wire, the former Fatal Fury 2 final boss joined Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on April 24, bringing one of SNK's most imposing old-school bosses into the revived fighting game's second season of DLC.
The update lands during the game's first anniversary push, which also includes a new Standard Edition and a limited-time 40% discount on the complete Legend Edition. For players who waited to jump in, SNK is now offering a cheaper base-game path while keeping the larger bundle for anyone who wants the season pass content included.
Krauser is being framed as the same ruthless "Emperor of Darkness" longtime Fatal Fury fans remember, now returning after rumors of his defeat by the Hungry Wolf. In City of the Wolves, his story ties into a new tournament hosted by his own son, giving the character a revenge angle rather than a simple nostalgia slot.
Krauser is built around range, pressure and punishes
Krauser's kit leans into heavy control. Blitz Ball gives him a long-range flame projectile, with light, heavy and REV versions traveling at different heights. Holding the button changes the projectile speed, which should make his zoning less predictable once players start mixing timings.
His Leg Tomahawk gives him a forward leaping strike with enough reach to threaten from distance or interrupt opponents when canceled from normals. Phoenix Slam covers the other side of that pressure game as a command throw, with heavy and REV versions able to absorb attacks before the grab connects.

Kaiser Claw is more specialized, since it only grabs airborne opponents, but SNK is positioning it as a check against players trying to jump out of Krauser's ground pressure. The REV version can cause a ground bounce, giving him combo extension potential after REV Accel.
Knee Halberd adds forward-moving offense and can be followed by a downward kick, while the REV version creates a bounce for higher-damage routes. His Kaiser Wave super rounds out the toolset with a large energy projectile that can be charged for more pressure when Krauser has Power Gauge and enough space.
The official arrival also follows recent datamined claims about additional City of the Wolves fighters, although Krauser himself is now fully confirmed and available rather than part of that speculation.
Standard Edition lowers the entry price
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is now available in a Standard Edition that includes the game's modes and base roster, excluding DLC characters. Season Pass 1 can also be purchased separately and includes Andy Bogard, Street Fighter guests Ken and Chun-Li, Joe Higashi and Mr. Big.
The anniversary sale is focused on the Legend Edition, which bundles the base game with Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2. Season Pass 2 is planned to add six characters, with one fighter scheduled to release each month. SNK's listed lineup includes Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star and one mystery character still to be announced.
For a fighting game trying to keep its online audience engaged after launch, the timing is straightforward. Krauser gives experienced Fatal Fury players a recognizable boss character to lab immediately, while the Standard Edition and discounted Legend Edition make it easier for newer players to buy in before the rest of Season Pass 2 rolls out.
