Euro Truck Simulator 2 is still running high on Steam after SCS Software pushed update 1.60 live, giving the 2012 trucking sim a fresh feature pass while it holds near the upper third of Valve's most-played chart.

In Gamers Now's 17:50 UTC reading of Steam's public most-played chart on June 20, Euro Truck Simulator 2 ranked No. 31 with 34,181 players in-game. The same reading listed a 43,013-player weekly peak, while the live count sat far above the game's recent multi-day level and slightly ahead of Friday evening's comparable reading.

The renewed activity lands in the same window as a sizeable PC update. SCS Software says update 1.60 is now officially released, adding Game Radio, a rest-system overhaul, upgraded truck interior materials, lighting tweaks, a Volvo FH Series 6 update and a new Job Details widget.

Game Radio changes the cab routine

Game Radio is the easiest feature to understand at a glance. Instead of relying only on the older radio and music-player setup, Euro Truck Simulator 2 now has five in-game stations named Rust FM, Escape, PUMP IT!, Pop Gear and Roadio. SCS says the stations cover rock, American roots music, electronic tracks, pop and lo-fi, with Escape designed as a stream-safe option for creators.

Update 1.60 adds Game Radio with multiple in-game stations and a driving widget.

The update also adds a widget that shows station info, track titles and artist names while driving. That fits Euro Truck Simulator 2's long-haul appeal: small cockpit features can matter when players are spending extended sessions crossing Europe, especially in a game where the route itself is the loop.

Update 1.60 builds on a busy year for ETS2

Update 1.60 follows the recent 1.59 release, which helped Euro Truck Simulator 2 hold near Steam's top 30 after the Benelux Rework. This time, the focus is less on a rebuilt map region and more on the driving experience around the cab.

The Improved Material System starts with the DAF NGD and MAN TG3 TGX, making cabin surfaces react more naturally to light. The Volvo FH Series 6 gets new aerodynamic parts, the GPS can show estimated arrival day and time and the Job Details widget puts cargo, destination, income and remaining delivery time on screen without opening another menu.

The rest-system change may be the most practical addition for long-haul players. SCS says drivers can now choose how long they want to sleep and when they want to wake up, while fatigue is split into separate Rest State and Mandatory Break values. In Euro Truck Simulator 2, the new mandatory-break rule allows up to 10 hours of driving before a required 9-hour rest.

Euro Truck Simulator 2's rank move is modest, up two places from Steam's weekly comparison, but the player-count context is stronger than that small climb suggests. A paid PC sim from 2012 sitting at No. 31 on Steam's live most-played list, in the same window as a free feature update, is unusual durability for a game that keeps building through steady long-term support rather than a fresh launch cycle.
