Hamster has two more retro releases lined up for April 30, with Namco's Cyber Commando joining Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 while Data East's Rohga: Armor Force arrives through the newer Console Archives label.

The pair is aimed at slightly different parts of the retro crowd. Cyber Commando is a 1994 Namco arcade game about piloting combat vehicles in a space colony after a security computer malfunction, while Rohga: Armor Force is a mech-focused run-and-gun shooter from Data East's 1990s catalog. Both releases put older, harder-to-access games onto current console storefronts this week.

Hamster's Cyber Commando announcement confirms that Arcade Archives Cyber Commando will launch on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 for $14.99. Arcade Archives 2 Cyber Commando will launch the same day on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for $16.99.

The split between the two versions is worth checking before buying. The standard Arcade Archives release is listed for one player, while the Arcade Archives 2 version supports one to two players. Hamster's Arcade Archives product page says the Arcade Archives 2 edition includes split-screen local multiplayer with one console and two controllers, plus the newer Time Attack Mode and VRR support.

Players who buy Cyber Commando on Switch or PS4 can also get an ownership discount on the newer version. Hamster says upgrading from the Switch version to the Switch 2 version, or from the PS4 version to the PS5 version, costs $2.99 when using the same account. The company also warns that the discount does not apply if the newer version is purchased first, and save data is not cross-compatible between the two releases.

Rohga: Armor Force is the smaller announcement, but it fills out Hamster's Console Archives lineup on newer hardware. In a separate release, Hamster says Rohga: Armor Force will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 on April 30. The assigned release details list the price at $11.99.

The game is based on Data East's scrolling mech shooter, where players assemble a machine from available parts before heading into battle. The version coming this week is tied to Console Archives, Hamster's label for classic games originally released on home consoles, rather than the arcade-focused Arcade Archives line.

For retro players, the cleanest distinction is simple: Cyber Commando is the broader multiplatform release, including Switch, PS4, Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S across its two Arcade Archives versions. Rohga: Armor Force is narrower, landing on Switch 2 and PS5 only through Console Archives.
