Ubisoft has given Assassin's Creed fans a broader look at what is changing in Black Flag Resynced, with the remake now confirmed to include new story arcs, upgraded visuals, combat changes, stealth improvements and extra ship-life touches on the Jackdaw.

In an official Ubisoft News post, Ubisoft describes Resynced as a faithful enhanced remake of 2013's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The new post is more of a feature rundown than a release-date update, but it fills in several player-facing changes beyond the basic pitch of bringing Edward Kenway's pirate adventure to newer hardware.

The visual upgrade is the easiest change to spot. Ubisoft says Black Flag Resynced is being rendered in the latest Anvil engine, with ray tracing, micropolygon rendering, new environmental destruction and dynamic weather systems for the Caribbean.

The remake is also adding story material. Ubisoft says players will see new arcs for Black Flag characters, with new missions and returning characters included in the remake. The post does not name those characters or explain how large the new missions are, so that part remains one of the bigger unanswered details.

Tailing missions, parrying and stealth are changing

Beyond the presentation upgrades, Ubisoft is continuing to position Resynced as a mechanical refresh. The new rundown mentions more flexible tailing missions, a new parrying system in combat and the ability to crouch anywhere during stealth sequences.

Those details line up with Ubisoft's earlier focus on making Edward easier to control without turning the remake into a completely different Assassin's Creed game. The studio previously broke down manual jump, advanced parkour and freer stealth, while another update covered the remake's expanded accessibility options.

The latest post also confirms smaller flavour additions, including new sea shanties and pets aboard the Jackdaw. That last detail is not a system-level change, but it does fit Black Flag's ship-focused identity, where the Jackdaw is as central to the game as Edward's on-foot assassinations.

Ubisoft ends the post by pointing players toward pre-orders. It does not add new platform, edition or pricing details in this update, so the main news is the clearer shape of the remake itself: more modern rendering, extra story content and a set of gameplay changes aimed at smoothing out parts of the 2013 original.
