Undead Labs, the Xbox-owned studio behind State of Decay 3, is reportedly among several teams at risk as Microsoft prepares another wave of layoffs. The report comes weeks after Xbox gave the survival sequel a 2027 launch window.

Undead Labs has shown the first gameplay for State of Decay 3, with shared world co-op, Plague Nests, a larger map and a 2027 launch window. The survival sequel is also confirmed for Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud, Game Pass, Steam and PlayStation 5.
