Skull and Bones is heading into Year 3 with a full 2026 roadmap, and the first stop is Shattered Seas on May 12. The opening season of Sails of Power adds a new large ship, two tougher World Tiers, expanded progression systems and official Steam Deck verification.

Ubisoft laid out the plan in an official roadmap post, framing Year 3 around stronger naval combat, deeper loadout customization and more endgame pressure across the Indian Ocean. The headline addition for Season 1 is the Galleon, described as the game's first large DPS ship with 40 gunports, the highest count in Skull and Bones so far.

Shattered Seas will also introduce World Tier 3: Rogue Storms and World Tier 3: Brutal Tempest. Enemies in those tiers can spawn with Seasonal Affixes, pushing players to adjust builds and tactics instead of relying on a single loadout.

Shattered Seas raises the gear ceiling

Progression is getting several new layers in Season 1. Ubisoft says the new Seasonal Mastery Tree will include more than 500 nodes, while Seasonal Perks will let captains push further into build craft and specialization.

Mythic Ascension and Mythic Reforge are also coming as new ways to improve gear beyond the current limits. The season will add new weapons, armor and furniture, including the Hullcarver Culverin, Needle Shield Armor and Royal Ramming Works Major Furniture.

There is a new Faction War Event called Safeguard, where players defend their manufactories against waves of enemy ships. The Honorless and Moonshine Larceny limited-time events are returning as well, this time with revamped reward lineups.

For PC players, the roadmap includes a useful technical update alongside the new content. Skull and Bones is getting Steam Deck verification and full handheld support in Season 1, plus more PC optimization aimed at lower-spec hardware.

More ships and Trials are planned for Year 3

Ubisoft's wider Year 3 plan includes additional ships after the Galleon, with the Junk and Fluyt named as upcoming additions. Sails of Power will also add Trials, a new feature focused on high-pressure encounters, mastery, adaptation and leaderboard competition.

Later seasons will bring Abyssal Depths, new elite bosses and further Faction War expansion as more familiar factions enter the conflict. Ubisoft also lists Mod Transfer and Equipment Sets as upcoming Power Progression features, giving players more control over builds as their gear develops.

Quality-of-life work is planned across the year too. The roadmap mentions more ships per fleet, larger party sizes, improved Smuggler Pass progression, ship management changes and UI/UX improvements.

Skull and Bones is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Ubisoft has not dated the later Year 3 seasons in the roadmap, but Season 1 starts May 12.
