Forza Horizon 6 is putting its online races, social modes and competitive oddities under one banner. Playground Games has shown Horizon Play, the multiplayer hub for the upcoming open-world racer, giving players a clearer idea of what will be waiting beyond solo cruising through Japan.
The new menu reveal, reported by IGN, lists a mix of returning favorites and new event types. Horizon Racing, custom options, The Eliminator and Hide & Seek are all part of the suite, while Spec Racing and Touge Showdown add two fresh multiplayer formats for Forza Horizon 6's launch window.
Horizon Play brings back The Eliminator and Hide & Seek
The return of The Eliminator gives Forza Horizon 6 a familiar battle royale-style lane, with players trying to survive head-to-head races across the map while upgrading cars and avoiding elimination. Hide & Seek is also notable because it arrived after launch in Forza Horizon 5, but it now appears to be part of the new game's day-one multiplayer offering.
Spec Racing sounds like the most traditional competitive addition. The mode uses dirt and road racing while putting every player in the same car, which should make racecraft and route knowledge more important than garage advantage. Touge Showdown leans into the Japan setting more directly, setting up 1v1 races across five preset mountain routes.
That mountain-pass focus fits the broader pitch for Forza Horizon 6. In its official launch-date breakdown, Playground Games said Japan will include roads inspired by locations such as the C1 loop, Gingko Avenue, Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma. The studio has also described new Touge Battles, Car Meets, Drag Meets and Horizon Time Attack Circuits as part of the game's open-world activities.
Forza Horizon 6 launches May 19 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Premium Edition early access starting May 15. A PlayStation 5 version is planned for later in 2026, so PS5 players will have to wait longer to try Horizon Play unless they jump in through Xbox or PC first.
