Fortnite's next movie crossover is official, and it is arriving quickly. Epic Games has confirmed that The Odyssey is coming to Fortnite, with Odysseus and Agamemnon skins expected to reach the Item Shop today, July 16.
The announcement came through Fortnite's official X account, which posted a short teaser saying, "It’s time to head home. The Odyssey comes to Fortnite later this week." Epic followed it with its weekly Item Shop preview, showing Odysseus again and confirming the July 16 shop timing.
The crossover is based on Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, with the Fortnite version of Odysseus clearly modeled after Matt Damon's armored lead role in the film. Agamemnon also appears in the teaser, giving the collaboration at least two skins at launch.
The Odyssey is a slightly unusual fit only if Fortnite is still viewed as a pure battle royale. Epic's game now runs on a steady flow of licensed characters, with major film, TV, anime, music and gaming crossovers moving through the shop and seasonal events. That puts the collaboration in familiar territory even with its ancient Greek source material and Nolan film branding.
It also continues Fortnite's habit of turning movie characters into collectible outfits rather than changing match rules outright. Gamers Now recently covered a reported Rambo crossover, another example of how often Epic looks beyond games for recognizable action icons.
Details beyond the skins are still limited. The Item Shop preview appeared to show an emote tied to the Odysseus bundle, but Epic has not fully detailed the bundle contents in the material inspected for this story. Anything beyond the confirmed July 16 shop arrival and official teaser remains unannounced until it appears in-game or on Fortnite's channels.
