Fields of Mistria reaches 1.0 tomorrow, August 5, turning one of Steam Early Access' most watched cozy games into a full PC release exactly two years after its early access debut.
NPC Studio announced the date in June, saying the 1.0 update will make the game and storylines "completable as originally envisioned." The studio's press kit lists PC via Steam as the launch platform, with console plans still TBA.
The timing gives farming and life-sim players a cleaner reason to either return or finally start fresh. Fields of Mistria has been playable for a long time, but tomorrow's launch is not a small label change. It adds the relationship and endgame pieces that many cozy RPGs rely on for long-term saves: 10-heart progression, proposal and wedding events, marriage, children, a higher Renown cap, more town repair questline events, extra dungeon quests, achievements and more rewards.
The 1.0 update fills in the life-sim promise
Fields of Mistria is a farm-life RPG about rebuilding a town after an earthquake, with the usual daily rhythm of crops, fishing, mining, crafting, relationships and seasonal festivals pushed through a deliberately 1990s-inspired lens. Its Steam page describes it as a spiritual successor to late-90s farm sim RPGs, which is the right reference point: it is less concerned with realism than with making the town feel like a routine worth inhabiting.
The 1.0 feature list is aimed at that routine. Marriage and children give relationship players the long arc that Early Access could only gesture toward. The town repair storyline being completable matters because Mistria's recovery is the game's central premise, not just a backdrop for crop grids. Achievements also arrive with the full release, with the studio's 1.0 FAQ saying players will retroactively earn achievements for things they have already done.
That same FAQ answers the two practical questions returning players tend to ask first. Existing saves will carry over to 1.0, and NPC Studio says it does not plan to raise the $13.99 USD price for the full launch.

A debut studio with unusually strong early access footing
Fields of Mistria is also the first game from NPC Studio, an indie developer based in Chicago. The studio's press kit says NPC Studio was founded in 2019 by a team of longtime farm-sim fans who wanted to build on the genre's history from Harvest Moon onward.
That background would be easy to dismiss if the Early Access version had not already found its crowd. Steam's public review summary lists Fields of Mistria as Overwhelmingly Positive from 29,209 user reviews at the time of writing, with 28,533 positive reviews and 676 negative ones. Those numbers do not guarantee the 1.0 update lands cleanly, but they show why tomorrow's launch has more weight than a normal small PC release. This is not an unknown farm sim asking players to imagine what it might become. It is a well-liked Early Access game trying to finish the promise that made players stick around.
The full release also arrives during a busy week. Our new games worth watching this week preview already has Big Walk, Lies of P: Complete Edition, Kill The Shadow, Marvel Tōkon and several other launches competing for attention. Fields of Mistria sits in a different lane from most of them: softer, slower and more about save-file attachment than launch-week spectacle.
PC first, with localization caveats
Tomorrow's launch is PC-first. The official FAQ says NPC Studio is focused on bringing Fields of Mistria to 1.0 on PC and will evaluate possible console ports later. Anyone waiting for Switch, PlayStation or Xbox should treat those versions as unannounced, not delayed.
Localization is also starting cautiously. NPC Studio says beta translations for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish are planned for 1.0. Those translations will be playable, but the FAQ estimates each beta language will be around 75% complete at launch, with missing translated text temporarily appearing in English.
That is worth knowing before picking a language, but it does not take away from the bigger milestone. Fields of Mistria launches into 1.0 on August 5 for PC via Steam, with existing saves carrying forward and the full town, romance and story structure ready for the players who made Mistria part of their routine before it was finished.
