Digital Bros has acquired full ownership of the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers intellectual property, paying RMB 32 million, or about €4 million, for the rights to the Chinese Soulslike.

The deal puts the future of Wuchang directly under Digital Bros, the Italian company behind 505 Games, which handled the game's global publishing partnership with developer Chengdu Lingzee. That future had looked uncertain after Chengdu Lingzee was shut down in the months after launch.

Digital Bros said the acquisition gives the group full ownership of the IP, lets it keep all value generated across the game's lifecycle, and removes any future royalty obligations to the developer. The company said the purchase will be funded through available credit lines.

"Securing the IP will enhance the Group's ability to make timely decisions regarding its future development and related investments," Digital Bros said in its announcement.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers passed 1 million copies sold, according to Digital Bros.

The filing also gives a clearer look at how Wuchang performed after its July 2025 release. Digital Bros said the game appeared among Steam's Top Sellers at launch, reached more than 130,000 concurrent players, sold over 1 million copies, and generated €30 million. The company said those figures confirmed "the strength of the product and its long-term potential."

That performance helps explain why Digital Bros would want control of the property even after the original studio's closure. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers arrived as a dark fantasy action RPG aimed at Soulslike fans, a crowded but still commercially potent space when a game can break through on Steam and consoles.

The announcement does not promise a sequel, expansion, or major update. Digital Bros said it does not expect the acquisition to have a significant impact on its previously disclosed outlook for the current fiscal year, which makes any substantial near-term Wuchang plans unlikely.

Digital Bros has also gathered several other game properties over the years, including Ghostrunner, Ghostrunner 2, the Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons remake, and Indivisible. Wuchang now joins that portfolio as an IP the company can steer without a separate developer royalty arrangement.
