Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has put the Adeptus Mechanicus in motion, giving RTS fans a fresh gameplay look at the faction's ranged units, vehicles and battlefield tricks.
The new trailer focuses on how the machine-worshipping army actually fights, not just how it looks. Adeptus Mechanicus forces are being pitched as quick, tech-heavy and strongest at range, with units designed to create traps, punish enemies from a distance and snowball through battlefield infrastructure.
Deep Silver and developer KING Art have described the faction's core as the Noosphere Network, a system that links buildings, static weapons and units. Expanding that network raises its level, unlocks stronger units, upgrades and research options and can make units inside its area cheaper to produce.
That gives opponents a clear target beyond simply wiping out squads. If the Adeptus Mechanicus player is allowed to spread the network across the map, their army becomes harder to trade with efficiently. Break the network apart and the faction loses one of its biggest advantages.
The gameplay breakdown also highlights several of the faction's machines, including the Ironstrider Ballistarius, Onager Dunecrawler and Skorpius Disintegrator. The Knight Castellan is part of the roster too, arriving through Drop Keeps thanks to the faction's connection with House Raven.
Dawn of War IV will also let players choose between two Adeptus Mechanicus commanders. Potentia Delta-9 is a Technoarcheologist with a scouting servo-skull and flexible upgrade paths, while Skitarii Marshal Sek-Ix-23 is built around buffing nearby units and leading large Skitarii formations.
The faction is new to Dawn of War as a playable army, which makes this trailer a more substantial reveal than another broad mood piece. It shows how KING Art is trying to separate the Adeptus Mechanicus from the Orks' brawling style, while still keeping Dawn of War IV focused on base building, resource points and large-scale RTS clashes.
Dawn of War IV is in development at KING Art Games and is due in 2026 for Windows PC via Steam. The Steam page lists four factions, more than 70 campaign missions, Last Stand, Skirmish and multiplayer modes.
