Polymega owners have two more CD-based retro systems to look forward to, although Playmaji is not ready to name them yet. The company says in a Polymega post on X that the upcoming additions will work on both the Polymega Base Unit and the Polymega App, which matters for anyone watching the hardware's wider 2026 push.

Playmaji framed the support as separate from Polymega Remix, the newer hardware project planned alongside the Polymega App this year. That means the new systems are not being positioned as an exclusive upgrade for the Remix hardware.

"This isn't Remix specific but we do have two brand new vintage CD systems locked and loaded that will be supported on both Base Unit and App. More details forthcoming."

Polymega's CD library is getting wider

Polymega already supports several major disc-based systems: Sega CD / Mega CD, TG-16 CD / PCE-CD, PlayStation, Saturn and Neo Geo CD. Since those are already covered, the unannounced pair could come from the remaining pool of vintage CD hardware that still has collectors and preservation-minded players curious, including systems such as 3DO, Commodore CD32, Commodore CDTV, FM Towns Marty, NEC PC-FX, Jaguar CD, Apple Pippin or Bandai Playdia.

For Polymega, the appeal is still its hybrid approach to original media and emulation. The system can read original cartridges and CDs, then either play them from the media or install them to internal storage. Its interface also organizes the library with matched box art, screenshots and descriptions, which is a big part of the pitch for players who want a modern front end without abandoning physical games.

The announcement is also another sign that Playmaji is trying to build momentum after years of distribution problems, preorder frustration and production delays. A power upgrade, Polymega Remix and the Polymega App are all part of the company's 2026 plans, so support for two more CD platforms gives existing owners a reason to keep watching before the new hardware details arrive.
